The Story Behind Sky Blue Elephant

How a childhood memory became our most beloved creation.

Every HandLooms creation has a story. The Sky Blue Elephant began with a simple question: What color is comfort? For our lead artisan Chen Xiaowei, the answer came from her grandmother's old photo album.

I remembered the sky on summer afternoons at my grandmother's house—that particular shade of blue that meant safety and endless possibility.

The design process took three months. We experimented with over 20 shades of blue before finding the perfect 'sky blue' that captures that nostalgic warmth.

Crafting Details

Each elephant takes approximately 12 hours to complete. The blush on the cheeks is hand-embroidered with silk thread, and the white tusks are carefully shaped from premium cotton yarn.
